I have been interpreting professionally for over 25 years. After attending North Central University I started out my career as an educational interpreter in rural Illinois and worked as a state Deaf Services Coordinator for Northwestern Illinois Center for Independent Living where I specialized in Interpreter referral, IEP advocacy and in making businesses accessible to Deaf and Hard of Hearing community members under the ADA/Section 504. After moving back to my home state of Michigan in 2000, I have spent the last 18 years in Interpreter agency administration including educational interpreting supervision in addition to community interpreting. I am one of the owners/managing partners of Signing Pros, LLC. I also enjoy doing some part time VRS interpreting. I am the current Vice President of the Michigan Coalition for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf Blind People, a Camp Chris Williams administrator and a board member for the Families Exploring Down Syndrome non profit group. I am happily married to my husband David and have 4 amazing children. Our daughter Rebekah has bilateral mild/moderate hearing loss in addition to having Down syndrome. As a family we enjoy being outdoors and family game nights.
