Civil Rights Commission to Host Public Forum on Disparities in Access to Quality Health Care

The forum offers an opportunity for members of the Commission and the general public to learn about the barriers that Michigan residents face when seeking health care, especially those barriers related to race, religion, sex, age, physical and mental disabilities, color, national origin, or marital status. The Commission is interested in part because of the link between prevention and early detection and positive health outcomes following serious illness.

"Access to health care is particularly important because so many other things we enjoy in life - work, family, freedom, personal interests - all depend on the foundation of good health. Good health care helps to assure our quality of life,¨ said Civil Rights Commissioner Lisa Peeples-Hurst.

“The Eleventh hour” a modern Easter drama

Signed for the deaf/hard of hearing

The Eleventh Hour is a musical drama about lost love, crimes committed, and second chances. A young couple on the verge of embarking on a life together, rummage through the remnants of childhood mysteries. A single dad struggling to raise his young son in an urban convergence, crumbles under his emotional and financial desperation. A landlady who cares enough to reach out to hurting souls in her community with joy and laughter, extends mercy and compassion as the story of Jesus comes to life before their eyes.
Celebrate the hope that the Easter story brings to our world!

“Deaf Explosion/Meet & Greet Fellowship”
Sponsored by Deaf Evangelism Advocacy For Christ

This event would allow us to reach out to our Deaf Community and embrace a city that has been heartbroken and riveted by violence. Our goal is to empower, inspire, uplift and motivate the DEAF, Hard of Hearing (HOH), and family members/friends of Deaf and HOH, through fellowship, testimonies, informational packets, spoken word, and resource representatives. There will also be free gifts and prizes, food, fun, and fellowship for ALL.

We would like to have a representative and/or information packets regarding services that are available to the Deaf community through your organization. We pray your schedule can accommodate this Powerful Expression of Life. Your presence alone would inspire, uplift and motivate our Deaf Community to strive for GREATNESS. Any assistance for this event would be greatly appreciated.
